Some positive news…

On the first of this month I embarked on a weight loss endeavor.  My main goals were to lose a reasonable amount of weight and get into 10K running shape by my birthday in August.  I really started at the end of March so it has been roughly two weeks into this.  I have been walking/running on the treadmill at least 3 times a week for 40 minutes.  Mostly I do this during lunch during the week and then once on the weekend.  For eating I have switched to a higher protein intake, reducing/eliminating processed foods and sugars.  I would love to get off of artificial sweeteners but I am not there yet by any means.  Baby steps I suppose.  So today I weighed in.  I am down 7 lbs in two weeks.  I know this amount of weight loss per week will not continue, but the progress is nice.   So that is my good news for today.

Work is good. Busy but I am enjoying it.  I have some stories that are in work but still not finished.  I do need to improve in this area. :)   Baby steps.  :D

  3. Good for you. I’ve dropped 27 lbs since January doing the same thing, eating healthier, and exercising 3-4 times a week. I’m at the point where I’m trying to lose the final 5 lbs, but those seem to be the hardest. Keep at it.

  4. That’s a great weight loss! Yeah, that pace won’t continue, but still, getting a response quickly is very motivating! I’m also on a better-eating kick with more protein and less sugar and carbs and it feels great. I’ve added breakfast bars and protein bars for snacks and I think that helps too.

    Don’t forget to post a sexy picture, too… that always is appreciated!

  6. Thanks to everyone for the positive comments and helpful suggestions. The main thing I need is consistency. I will get to where I want to be. Hopefully sooner rather than later. :D

    It’s no easy thing to do (and yet, it’s the easiest thing in theory–if that makes any sense). It’s completely awesome that you’ve kept it up (and keep it up!)

  8. I will post some pictures after 2 – 3 more weeks and see how I am progressing. I have until the end of August to meet my goal but I hope to reach it sooner.

    Any and all requests will be considered and I will do my best to comply. ;)
